Peggy Guggenheim's collection of 20th century art was stunning. Perhaps because it was an intimate setting, her home on the Grand Canal where she and her little dogs are buried, or the insightful commentary on the rented audio, I was truly touched by these works as I have never been before. Her innovative sense and eye, not to mention that she was married to surrealist Max Ernst, compiled an amazing collection of her contemporaries. We also could get as close as we wanted, and take pictures, so I have attached my favorites - Magritte, Brancusi, Kandinsky, Pollack, Calder and a gondolier from the window.
