Csilla's apartment is just below the Castle District on the edge of Vizivaros district - the western bank of the Danube, just north of the Chain Bridge. It gained it's name in the Middle Ages from the constant flooding of the Danube. Walking down the stone stairway to Batthyany Square, we found the cluster of four churches visible from the castle bastions above. First we encountered the beautiful silhouetted statue of the Madonna, then St. Anne's and the uber baroque St. Elizabeth's. The fantastic colored tile roof of the Calvinist Church, with it's centrally placed alter, next caught our eye, then the Capuchin Church. The cherub bas relief is one of four panels on a house built on the medieval city wall bordering the square.
