Just down the canal, past the Ponti deli Scalzi, we found our hotel on a narrow side street. The main streets leading to St Mark's Square were already crowed with vendors and shoppers. In route to the Square, there were many sights that caught our eye.....the street market, the gondolas, bridges, shops and the crooked balcony in a sinking Venice.
